Yesterday (7th March 2020) evening I received the first paperback copy of my book, "Indian Computer Science (CS) & Information Technology (IT) Academic Reform (Past) Activism Blog Book". This one has been self-published using Notion Press self-publishing (support) company and uses Letter size - 8.5 in. x 11 in. The sale page: https://notionpress.com/read/indian-computer-science-cs-information-technology-it-academic-reform-past-activism-blog-book.
The Notion Press cover page creator was a new program for me and so I have not yet got a good grasp of using it. After a quick look at the paperback book, some changes are very obvious:
1) Ensure some right hand margin for author name (lower right corner of front cover page).
2) Move title text slightly higher so that "Book" appears with some margin gap below.
3) Back cover page font size must be reduced and some more margin at the edges must be added there.
4) I have to add "Not from Profit .." label to front cover page of book.
Overall the book seems to have printed very well. The grey (screenshot) pics have also printed well.
The pics below were taken using my low-cost smartphone, under sunlight in the sitout/balcony of my flat on 8th March 2020 in the early afternoon.
[To open pic in larger resolution, right-click on pic followed by open link (NOT image) in new tab/window. In new tab/window you may have to click on pic to zoom in.]
The tape on the left shows that the length of the book is 11 inches.
The tape at the top of the book shows that the width of the book is 8.5 inches.
Screenshot pics have printed quite well in greyscale.
===================Older medium quality pics ============================
The pics below were taken indoors on 7th March 2020 at night under tubelights. My low-cost smartphone does not do a very good job at pics taken under tubelight,
The tape at the left of the book shows that the height (or should one say length) of the book is 11 inches. I have placed it on today's The Hindu paper so that viewers who are familiar with The Hindu paper size, can get some idea about size of book.
The tape at the top of the book shows that the width of the book is 8.5 inches.
Screenshot pics have printed well in greyscale though this pic is not good enough to show the actual print quality (which is decent).
At first look, text seems to have printed well.
